St Andrew's Parish – Lidcombe New South Wales

Religion Sub - Committee – Co-ordinator – Mrs. Anna Parasyn

Established - 24 July 1997.

Aim - to assist the Parish Priest and the Sisters of the Order of St Basil the Great to promote the spiritual revival of Parishioners.

The Religion sub-committee has embraced the task of improving the knowledge of and participation in Liturgical activity. As an initial step it has recognised that there is a need to revive our understanding of Ukrainian Catholic Liturgical practices and traditions associated with our major Feast Days.

Catechetics in Ukrainian School
Bible Study Group
Religious Newsletter
Continuing Religious Education
Meetings

Major tasks so far undertaken by sub-committee:

Participation in the "Bishops’ Committee for Justice, Development and Peace – Research Project on The Participation of Women in the Catholic Church in Australia".
Publication of Newsletter by Parishioners for Parishioners in December 1997
Youth for Christ Gathering - Sydney 2-7 July 1999 – Session Facilitators.
