The Family Sub-Committee was established on 24th
July, 1967 with the aim of assisting priests and the Basilian
Sisters to promote family unity in our parish.
With the great energy and dedication of the Co-ordinator it
undertook the task of:
strengthening existing marriages and family relationships,
visiting the sick and infirmed,
informing the aged and the frail parishioners about resources
available to them for better well-being,
meeting regularly to evaluate existing activities and resources.
Family activities include:
visiting the aged and frail at home,
spending quality time with them eg. Conversation,
finding out about their well-being eg. Self-maintenance and
social supports,
informing older people and families about resources to them,
assisting older people and families to reach these resources
eg. Organising meals on wheels/transport,
