Trampled Underground: The Unofficial Recordings of Led Zeppelin

Front Row; Memphis Productions (69:56, 72:55)
23 September, 1971; Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan
Track Listing: Introduction, Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Since I've Been Loving You, Black Dog, Dazed And Confused, Stairway To Heaven, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp/That's The Way, Going To California, What Is And What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (includes: Boogie, Mess O' The Blues, Evil Woman, Good Times Bad Times, For What It's Worth, How Many More Times, The Hunter, You Shook Me..), Communication Breakdown.

Recording Quality: An average to very good audience recording with a lot of audience noise make this a frustrating listen. There are tape cuts within the excellent Whole Lotta Love medley.

Comments: This is a knock-off of the Tarantura title Front Row minus the fancy packaging. This is an excellent show and the first ever in Japan, but the audiences constant noise, whistling, and rioting cause some problems on stage.

Bottom Line: Worthwhile release, and an easy way to pick up an affordable version of a very expensive Tarantura release of a very important show.
