Rowland Ward is a parish minister of the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia and adheres whole-heartedly to the teaching of the Westminster Confession of Faith as received by the Church of Scotland in 1647. In preaching he loves to try and show the unity of the Scripture and its central focus on Jesus Christ.

Rowland was born and educated in Melbourne and worked for 10 years in the general insurence industry becoming a senior account executive with what is now Marsh. He married Anna Hilliard in 1972, and studied at the Free Church of Scotland College, Edinburgh (1972-1975). He was ordained and inducted to the Ulverstone PCEA congregation in north-west Tasmania on March 16 ,1976. Concluding his ministry there on August 25, 1981, he supplied the small Melbourne congregation then located at East St Kilda. He was inducted on June 2, 1984 and the Melbourne work was subsequently re-organised and re-located.

Rowland edited the church magazine from June 1981-1986 and again from June 2000 and continuing. He has lectured in the UK, The Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, India and Sri Lanka. He is the author of a number of books detailed elsewhere on this site. In 1994 he was awarded the doctorate in Theology of the Australia College of Theology Sydney for a thesis entitled "Divisions and the Unions in Australia Presbyterianism 1823-1901 with Special Reference to the Church's Attitude to its Creed".

He and his wife Anna have five children (3 girls and 2 boys), and their first grandchild was born in 2001.
