The “Pool Series” was not only different in how ‘images were formed. The installation was also innovative
Each artwork was mounted and set in a box-frame that sat on its own plinth. In the gallery space, artworks were grouped in pairs or trios. The circle
format for each watercolour had its source in drawings of cross-sections of seminiferous tubules within testes. The watercolour
flow in each circle generally contradicted the convergent flow that is part of the generation of sperm and testosterone within these tubules. These works are just anothe way that I apply my theory of the ‘gonadic in art’. |
