“STORIUM”This artwork was originally commissioned by Ipswich City Council for possible
inclusion in future developments in d’Arcy Doyle Place adjacent to Global Arts Link, Ipswich. With these developments on hold, Council decided to have the artwork shown in Global Arts Link
(GAL). Background to this work is available through www.geocities.com/storiumips
.The artwork consists of two lines of scrolling texts projected onto the floor of the gallery, each with a small white “hill” that gives some “magnification” to
the moving texts.Each text line is made up
of 100 texts which are not separated by punctuation marks, challenging the viewer to sort meaning from (and to, perhaps, insert meaning into) the streams of words.The artwork was shown through April, until May 5, of 2003. |
