Artworks
developed from materials found on roads was triggered by a fascination with the ‘death poses’ of odd bits of rope that had supposedly ‘fallen off the back of a truck’. It occurred to me that rope
‘lost to the road’ was there from a certain type of man - the type of man who would possibly be focussed upon the task of carrying goods from place to place, without the fuss of tying down loose ends.
Hence, the road rope lead to the development of thinking about men and men’s attitude to work.
It has blown out into developing a detailed agenda to refigure ideas about masculinity. |
